Gasthof Zum Goldenen Anker in Steinwiesen

We took a short break in Steinwiesen at the end of September, and when we were looking for a restaurant, our landlord recommended the Goldene Anker to us. So we reserved a table for 2 and were not disappointed. The ambience is absolutely authentic, the hosts and the service staff are very attentive and very, very friendly ... so five stars for that. The entire restaurant including the toilets are very clean. the food on the first evening was more than delicious (horseradish roast) very professional and visually appealing ... When I asked if there is also pork knuckle, the chef (boss) was brought out of the kitchen and he offered us a knuckle of pepper for Sunday ... of course we immediately reserved a table for Sunday. On Sunday I was rewarded with the best knuckle of pepper I have ever eaten ... the sauce, the dumplings (homemade and as the boss explained the process in a short conversation, this preparation is extremely complex) everything was very tasty, man recognized that everything that was served is fresh and tasty. Therefor again 5 stars. All in all, my wife and I were completely satisfied and we will definitely spend a few days again in Steinwiesen and use every opportunity to eat at the Goldener Anker. Never again! Missing catering and food where half was missing. Beer garden is neglected.

The food was delicious. But the organization is disastrous. You have to queue for drinks and food. But here there is only 1 person who makes drinks, takes food orders and accounts. Here I stood in line for 15 minutes ... That doesn't work at all. It's a shame, because the food is really delicious and the price is okay. The waiter who served the food was also extremely friendly and nice.

We went to this great restaurant for dinner last night. The staff was really nice and the food was really great. I can really only recommend it. The decoration of the plates was unique and creative.

While looking for a cozy restaurant, we came across the golden anchor. It is a very appealing atmosphere. The food was extremely tasty the staff was very nice. Unfortunately the waiting time was a bit long. But it could be shortened very well with the existing games. :-) We look forward to the next visit.

Pleasant place, tastes good, sometimes cook doesn't show everything he can do. Operation sometimes seems overwhelmed. Price-performance ratio is right.

Was a great accident. The staff was very friendly and the food was simply delicious. All at a good price. The beer garden behind the house invited us to linger and the house dog made for a short time. Gladly again.

Very very good and excellent cuisine! Rich selection of typical Franconian traditional dishes. “Modern” and sometimes exclusive dishes are also regularly featured on the menu. We come to eat regularly and have never been disappointed in quality. The service is nice and friendly. With a full house or beer garden, however, it can take a long time for the food and / or drinks to arrive. Even that with the so-called "seasonal or mixed drinks" unfortunately forces me to deduct a star. Nevertheless, we always love to come back! A modern Franconian inn!
